Effective Date: February 2026

As part of your use of Canada Life under our Terms of Service, you agree to follow this Acceptable Use Policy. It helps keep the Canada Life community safe and respectful. The examples below are not exhaustive; we may update this policy as needed. If we find content or behavior that violates these rules, we may remove content or take account-level action, including suspension or termination. You may report potential violations to us; we may offer an appeals process for enforcement actions.

Child Safety

We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. We will remove and report such content as required by law. Prohibited content includes: nude or sexually explicit imagery of children; sexualization of children; grooming or sexual solicitation; and any content that promotes, glorifies, or normalizes child sexual exploitation.

Dangerous, Violent, or Graphic Content

We do not allow content that is dangerous, violent, or graphic in a way that can cause serious harm or distress. Prohibited content includes: instructions for building or misusing dangerous items; dangerous challenges that pose significant health risk; threats or glorification of violence; terrorist or extremist content; content promoting human trafficking; graphic imagery of death, abuse, or bodily harm; and similar material.

False or Misleading Information

We do not allow content that is fraudulent or contains false, deceptive, or misleading statements in a way that could cause harm. This includes false or misleading health or medical information; misinformation about civic processes or events that could incite violence or create safety risks; conspiracy theories denying well-documented events; and manipulated media intended to deceive.

Harassment

We do not allow content that intimidates or causes someone to fear for their safety. Prohibited behavior includes: personal attacks, insults, profanity, or unwanted sexualization; sharing or threatening to share non-consensual intimate imagery; threats or wishes of harm; mocking someone's personal loss; coordinated targeting (e.g. brigading, mass commenting); creating accounts to harass; misuse of reporting tools to harass; and doxxing or encouraging others to harass or dox.

Hateful Content

We do not allow content that attacks, demeans, discriminates against, or promotes harmful stereotypes about a group based on race, ethnicity, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity, disability, or other protected characteristics. This includes hate symbols; dehumanization; slurs; incitement or glorification of violence against a group; and threats or negative generalizations against protected groups.

Personal Information

We respect privacy and will remove personal information or personal images shared without consent. Personal information includes: contact details (address, email, phone, social media); government-issued IDs; financial information; and highly sensitive records (e.g. medical). Do not share others' personal information or identifiable images without their consent.

Restricted Goods and Services

We do not allow content that facilitates the trade, marketing, or misuse of restricted goods (e.g. alcohol, tobacco, firearms, explosives, regulated drugs, endangered species). Prohibited content includes facilitating sale or exchange of such goods; instructions for manufacturing or circumventing regulations; and glorifying misuse of restricted goods.

Sexual Content

We do not allow sexually explicit or exploitative content. Prohibited content includes: nudity or sexually explicit material; non-consensual intimate imagery; sexual abuse or exploitation; blackmail using intimate media; sexual solicitation; and obscene content.

Suicide, Self-Harm, and Eating Disorders

We do not allow content that shows, promotes, facilitates, or encourages suicide, self-harm, or eating disorders. If you or someone you know is in crisis, please seek help from qualified professionals or crisis services. Prohibited content includes: depicting or glorifying suicide or self-harm; sharing plans or instructions; linking to sites that promote such content; and mocking or minimizing others' experiences.

We do not allow inauthentic or disruptive behavior. Prohibited conduct includes: manipulating leaderboard or activity data; posting activities that are not authentically completed by you; impersonating a person or brand; misrepresenting yourself to deceive others; excessive automated or bulk activity (e.g. bots, scraping); creating accounts in bulk; bypassing rate limits; unsolicited or repetitive posting to gain attention or promote a business; repeatedly disrupting other users' experience; and evading enforcement (e.g. creating new accounts after suspension). Content that is malicious (e.g. viruses, phishing) or harmful to our or others' systems is also prohibited.
